About Me
I have always been aware of being active, healthy and fit, however, growing up I was a very sickly child, suffering with chronic migraines, epilepsy and sinus problems. I can remember my mom always trying to help me eat a balanced diet. Although I was very active in junior school, in high school I lost the plot and my diet and nutrition was not optimal. I developed IBS and other health conditions and have battled with bouts of depression most of my adult life. I have been on medication and do believe to medicate when necessary. Although, I have found (thanks mom), through the correct nutrition, I have become happier and healthier. I occasionally still get sick but I know that eating correctly the right nutrition heals from the inside.
While still in high school, I started working out at the gym and found that I really loved the feeling and the results that gym gave me.
After high school I studied fashion design which I loved, but found the lifestyle not suited to me.
Soon after, I started doing Pilates and fell in love with this method of exercise and how it improved my balance and corrected my posture. After some research I decided to study Stott Pilates as I believe that using this method of Pilates I can better help people achieve amazing results.
Since then, I have practiced and taught Pilates, gym and yoga. I have successfully competed in various bodybuilding shows but most importantly, I have found my passion in teaching and helping people achieve the results they want.
Balancing exercise with nutrition is very important and I have found the right nutrition can be real medicine for the body. We have billions of bacteria in our gut which send signals to the rest of our body and our brain. If we don’t eat properly then our body won’t function properly and our brains don’t work as well as they should. In achieving a fit and healthy body, your diet makes up 80% of the results that you want to achieve, that means that only 20% is due exercise.
Time does not need to be a factor when wanting to lose weight or be healthier especially if you are battling with an illness, your health should be your number one priority.
Everyone is different and needs different things, that is why I believe everyone’s diet or fitness approach should be tailor made to suit each individual. I will personally build your workout and eating plan according to the answers you give in my questionnaire.
